November 26th, 2009, Dr. Huaming Wang, senior scientist of Danisco U.S. Genencor Division, was invitedto visit Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology Chineae Academy of Sciences and give a talk, entitled “Microbial Production: not just enzymes”.Deputy heads Yanhe Ma, Shuheng Ma, Hua Han and Xinjian Liu, S&T division head Zhiyong Huang, faculties, staff and students attended the meeting.
Dr. Wang introduced the extensive applications of bio-product in industry, medicine, food and other fields, especially in industrial enzymes. He pointed out the key factors of bio-production (1) new microbial transfer systems, (2)screening new enzymes, (3) bio-production by pathway engineering. He also gave several examples, elaborated on the advantages and challenges of bio-production, as well as the marketing ideas of bio-product. Finally, Dr. Wang discussed industrial enzymes marketing with the participants.The report has achieved good results.
