On Oct 28, 2008, at the invitation of Prof. Yin Li, Deputy Director of the preparation team of Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology (TIB), Prof. Han de Winde, the head of Department of Biotechnology, Delft University of Technology, and his assistantsvisited the TIB. Prof. Han de Winde is also the business director of Kluyver Centre for Genomics of Industrial Fermentation, Holland. Driven by Prof. Han de Winde and his co-workers, the international cooperative project applied jointly by the Kluyver Center and the TIB has been approved by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).　　　　

Prof. Han de Winde and his colleagues, accompanied by Prof. Yin Li,  visited the construction site of the R&D building. They highly praised the construction speed. Soon after, Director of the preparation team of the TIB, Prof. Yanhe Ma and Deputy Director Shuheng Ma and Hua Han, met with the group of Prof.de Winde at provisional working place of the institute. Prof. Yin Li introduced to the guests the construction background, orientation, tasks, development layout, and so on. Prof. Han de Winde indicated that Delft University of Technology is becoming the center of Industrial Biotechnology in Holland and that there is a large space to cooperation with Tianjin Institute of Biotechnology in scientific research, personnel training and technology transfer. He hoped to be able to further understand Tianjin Institute of Biotechnology, strengthen the exchanges and contacts between the staff, and on the basis of the existing cooperation project, extend the cooperatations with the TIB more deeply.
