The Chief Technology Officer Erik Kakes of Applikon Biotechnology, Inc. visited Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, CAS at the invitation of Professor Jibin Sun, the vice-director of TIB, on January 22th. He made a presentation entitled "Scale up of bioreactor systems & Industry trends" In the lecture, Professor Erik Kakes detailing the basic amplification principles of bioreactor especially stirred reactor, and to analyze the key factors which impact stirred reactor amplification one by one, such as Geometrical characteristics, oxygen transfer coefficient KLa, maximum shear force dissolved oxygen, etc. In addition, Erik Kakes Professor described the development and application trends of stirred reactor in the fermentation industry from a technical and application level. After the lecture, Professor Erik Kakes visited the Key Laboratory of Systems Microbial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences （KLSMB, CAS）accompanied by Professor Jibin Sun. |
