Functional Characterization of Cucurbitadienol Synthase and Triterpene Glycosyltransferase Involved in Biosynthesis of Mogrosides from Siraitia grosvenorii

Mogrosides , the major bioactive components isolated from the fruits of S . grosvenorii .The Lab of Functional Sugar and Natural Bioactive Products led by Professor Sun Yuanxia at Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology ( TIB ) , Chinese Academy of Sciences ( CAS ) reported the successful identification of SgCbQ and UGT74AC1 .This work named " Functional Characterization of Cucurbitadienol Synthase and Triterpene Glycosyltransferase Involved in Biosynthesis of Mogrosides fromSiraitia grosvenorii " was supported by Tianjin Enterprise Postdoctoral Innovation Project Special Foundation .

Genetic engineering of E. coli strain: the whole-cell biotransformation of allitol using a coupling reaction by D-psicose 3-epimerase and D-ribitol dehydrogenase

The Lab of Functional Sugar and Natural Bioactive Products led by Professor SUN Yuanxia at Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology (TIB), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) reported a novel strain K. oxytoca G4A4 isolated from soil. The study entitled ”Construction of allitol synthesis pathway by multi-enzyme coexpression in Escherichia coli and its application in allitol production” was published on Journal of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology.

Green Hydrogen Production from Biomass Catalyzed by Enzyme Cocktails

Prof. ZHANG Yiheng, who is affiliated with Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and his co-workers in the USA, have now introduced an enzyme cocktail of more than 15 enzymes that can produce hydrogen from both glucose and xylose of corn stover. The study entitled “High-yield hydrogen production from biomass by in vitro metabolic engineering: Mixed sugars coutilization and kinetic modelling” has been published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. A US patent was also issued (US 8,211,861).

Exploring skyline for both MSE-based label-free proteomics and HRMS quantitation of small molecules

Assessment of BAK1 activity by quantitative phosphorylation-pattern profiling

Plant receptor-like kinases ( RLKs ) constitute a large family of receptors coordinating develop-mental programs with adaptation to environmental stresses including immune defenses BRI1 - ASSOCIATED KINASE 1 ( BAK1 ) , a member of the plant RLK family .Taken together , this phospho-pattern profiling strategy allowed for explicit assessment of BAK1 kinase activity in different RLK complexes , which would facilitate elucidation of BAK1 diverse functions in plant development , defense , and adaptation .
