COMSATS Joint Center for Industrial Biotechnology is Established in Tianjin

TIB-VIB Joint Center of Synthetic Biology, NC SynBio has been established

On December 9, Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (TIB, CAS) and Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie-Flanders Institute of Biotechnology (VIB) hosted the signing ceremony for the TIB-VIB Joint Center of Synthetic Biology (TV-SynBio) via on-line. The workshop on Yeast Synthetic Biology was held to discuss the detailed collaboration.

2nd Sino-German Symposium on Fungal Biotechnology was held in Tianjin

With the supporting of Sino-German Center for Research Promotion, for the second time already, German and Chinese colleagues working in fungal biotechnology – including fungal genetics, cell biology and process engineering - met to present their ongoing research, discuss future collaborative efforts and enlarge or deepen their network.

TIB hosted the International Training Course on Industrial Synthetic Biotechnology

During October 14 - November 2 , Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology , Chinese Academy of Sciences ( TIB .CAS ) hosted the International Training Course on Industrial Synthetic Biotechnology ( ITC-ISB ) sponsored by the CAS . 21 young S&T personnel from ten “ Belt & Road ” countries such as Pakistan , Egypt , Kazakhstan .The training course improved the capacity building on industrial synthetic biotechnology , some collaboration potentials were discussed which laid the foundation for the future international cooperation among the Bele & Road countries .

The 2019 Metabolic Engineering Summit ( MES.Initiated by the International Metabolic Engineering Society ( IMES ) was successfully held by the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology ( TIB ) , Chinese Academy of Sciences ( CAS ) from October 20 to.Over 500 metabolic engineering expert and scholars and enterprise representatives from more than 20 countries including the United States , Germany , Britain , Japan , South Korea , Singapore and Pakistan attended the summit .

TIB successfully hosted the 22nd Meeting of COMSATS Coordinating Council

The 22nd meeting of COMSATS (Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South) Coordinating Council was held in Tianjin from April 16 to 17. The meeting was hosted by Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology (TIB), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. More than 50 participants including the Coordinating Council members, representatives from COMSATS’ centres of excellence, delegates from International organizations and the Embassy of COMSATS Member Countries in China from 18 countries, including China, Egypt, Bangladesh, Colombia, Ghana, Iran, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania and Turkey, Italy attended the meeting.

ICCBS and TIB Signs the MoU on Cooperation of Science and Technology

The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi (ICCBS) and Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology (TIB), Chinese Academy of Sciences signs the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation of Science and Technology on January 8, 2019.
