My interest is in metabolic control fermentation of amino acids. The primary aim of my work is to develop high-throughput automatic fermentation technologies to appropriately assess the fermentation performance of genetically engineered microorganisms, and to further modify the automatic processes adaptive to the various phenotypic characteristics of the novel mutants with unknown genetic characteristics or directed genome modifications. I also focus on the development of product extraction process and industrial scale-up fermentation. To date, I have published more than ten research papers in international journals, and applied for over twenty Chinese invention patents and 4 PCT patents, in which more than half are granted.
