A*STAR SIFBI Delegation Visits TIB to Explore Future Collaboration
On May 18, a delegation from the Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI) under Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), led by Deputy Executive Director Dr. Wong Min Hao, visitedTianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology(TIB), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof.TianChaoguang, Deputy Director-General of TIB, together with relevant researchers and administrative staff, participated in the exchange.
During the visit, the SIFBI delegation toured TIB’s Bio-foundry and gained a comprehensive overview of TIB’s disciplinary layout, major research breakthroughs, platform development, and international cooperation. The SIFBI delegation also presented A*STAR’s RIE2030 strategic plan, SIFBI’s key research directions, and representative achievements serving the bioeconomy.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on future collaboration and reached consensus on establishing an academic exchange mechanism and joint talent cultivation.
The visit enhanced mutual understanding, clarified the next steps for cooperation, and laid a solid foundation for deeper collaboration in biomanufacturing.
