TIB-VIB Joint Center of Synthetic Biology
Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie-Flanders Institute of Biotechnology (VIB) is an internationally renowned life science research institution, with a strong reputation in translational research in the field of synthetic biology. On December 9, 2020, TIB and VIB signed an agreement to jointly build a joint Center for synthetic biology (TV-Synbio) in the framework of the NC SynBio. Prof. Kevin Verstrepen from VIB and Prof. JIANG Huifeng were appointed as the Co-Directors. Currently, the Joint Center has formed a collaborative team in the fields of yeast synthetic biology and biotechnology, and the biosynthesis of plant natural products, and a series of activities such as academic exchanges, talent cultivation, personnel exchange were carried out. In the future, the Joint Center will strive to be the hub for international cooperation in the field of synthetic biology between China and Belgium.
