Dr. Mauro Giacca, the Director-General of International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) visited TIB on July 23, 2015. Prof. JIbin Sun, the Deputy Director-General, and related staff from the Office of S&T Development Administration of TIB gave the delegate warm receptions.

Prof. Jibin Sun introduced TIB from such as background, missions, research areas, organization scheme, and research organizing model, core Facilities, major research progress and industrial collaboration of the Institute to the delegate. Subsequently, Dr. Mauro Giacca introduced ICGEB. The two sides discussed the possible common interests to carry on cooperation and corresponding cooperative forms. Both sides expressed the hope to carry out cooperation if have chance in the future, to co-promote the research and industrialization development in the area of biotechnology.

During the visit, the delegation visited the core facilities covering high-throughput screening, systems biotechnology, fermentation, and the laboratory of microbial metabolic engineering of TIB.
